On the first and third Saturday evenings of every month, we offer a program of 500 prostrations and chanting in the 1st floor Dharma Hall. Both programs begin at 5:00 p.m., and while there is no fee to attend, donations($10) are suggested. It is not necessary to do all the prostrations, just come, check it out, and see how many prostrations you can do. The group energy will surprise you by practicing together, we all help each other.
Doing repetitive prostrations like this while chanting is one of the fastest ways to bring body, breath, and mind together. It is a very powerful form of body meditation, that allows our thinking minds to quickly subside, letting one feel at peace with whatever is happening. It is also a very powerful humbling practice; by doing prostrations we surrender our selfish egos to the greater harmony of the universe, which lets us live our lives clearly for all beings.
